A liveaboard is the ultimate way to explore the wrecks of Truk Lagoon.  The SS Thorfinn is a 58 meter steam powered vessel.  Accommodating 22 guests in 11 air-conditioned state rooms, this ship offers comfort, relaxation, tempting food delights, and every safety consideration, provided by a crew of 21. The ship's facilities, diving gear, boats, and compressors are well maintained and designed to suit the demanding conditions of this remote location.

Eleven tastefully furnished guest rooms are equipped for two person occupancy. Nine have large double beds with adjacent single berths. Eight rooms have private facilities, with three others sharing two showers and toilets.

A large 'C' deck guest lounge with shade awning, camera service tables and large deck areas of the most stable ship in the trade add to comfort and convenience. Plenty of fresh water is available, as well as a large hot water spa.

Two dive service areas eliminate congestion, providing each six person group with convenient valet systems of gear handling. Rinse tanks, deck showers, fresh towels and gear bins add to this facility.

The chase boats take divers accompanied by experienced local guides out to the dive sites (average boat ride 10 minutes), so 5 different sites per day can be offered with no more than 8 divers per site – making for uncrowded, silt-free dives. With as many as 37 wrecks to choose from your experienced dive guide will maximize your diving by guiding you through the ship and pointing out the many highlights.

Onboard oxygen generators allow for 3 free fills of Nitrox per day for each diver and the operation is set up to support technical divers with doubles and pony bottles – sodas orb for rebreather and helium are also available with sufficient notice.

As this remote location is occasionally strained for some supplies due to shipping delays and other unforeseeable events some popular food items may not be available. For this reason we buy our supplies locally and much of our produce is grown on the islands.

The standard package runs from Saturday-Saturday and offers 5 dives a day, 7 days a week.
