Kararu visits a range of remote and exciting locations in the Indonesian archipelago, from Komodo to the Banda Sea and Irian Jaya.
The company uses the comfortable and spacious MS Aurora, a traditional wooden schooner with a length of 42 meters, a beam of 9 meters and 7 guest cabins. The vessel is outfitted and equipped with underwater photographers in mind.
While it's staffed by experienced, professional and very friendly Western dive staff, local divemasters who can find just about any critter in any situation also help out. The MS Aurora can accommodate up to 14 divers very comfortably.
All double and twin cabins are equipped with private bathrooms, hot water and individual air-conditioning units. The cabins are cleaned twice a day with a turn down service at night. The main salon is fully air-conditioned and features a comfortable lounge area, shop and library with fish identification and wildlife books, novels, travel guidebooks, a music collection plus movies and documentaries relevant to the area.
There are plenty of camera battery charging stations (220v / 110v) and laptop power points. Also available are a laundry and pressing service, massage and spa service, food and drinks with vegetarian menu on request, equipment servicing and spare parts, and PADI/SDI/TDI and Nitrox courses. Nitrox and rental equipment are available onboard.
All diving is done from 2 zodiacs and a dive tender. There are on deck showers and toilets, spacious camera workstations and individual tank and camera stations with lockers.
